Pricing

Agreed up front. Never by the hour.

Most owners do not mind paying for good accounting. What they mind is not knowing what it will cost, and opening an invoice that is bigger than they expected. So our fees work in two parts: the work every business needs each year sits on one monthly package, and anything beyond that is quoted in writing before we start. You always know the price before the work is done.

How it works

Accounting fees you can see before you commit.

01 Part one

One monthly package

Tax returns and financial statements, BAS and IAS, tax planning and ASIC compliance for every entity in your group. One amount, every month, agreed up front.

02 Part two

Everything else quoted up front

When you need more, we scope it and give you a written price first. There is no open-ended hourly billing.

03 Always

No surprise bills

The price you agree is the price you pay. If the scope changes, we tell you and agree the change before doing the extra work.

Part one

Your monthly compliance package

The core compliance for every entity in your group, handled proactively rather than at tax time:

  1. Tax returns and financial statements for your companies, trusts and partnerships, plus the owners' returns as part of the group. See company tax returns.
  2. BAS and IAS, prepared, reviewed and lodged monthly or quarterly.
  3. Tax planning before 30 June, so you know your tax position while there is still time to act. See business accountants.
  4. ASIC compliance: annual company reviews, registered details, changes, minutes and resolutions.

One amount, every month, agreed up front.

Part two

Everything else, quoted before we start

If the scope changes partway through, we tell you and agree the change before doing the extra work.

What sets the price

We do not publish a price list, because it would be wrong for you.

Two businesses with the same turnover can need very different amounts of work. Your fee is built from four things: structure, number of entities, transaction volume and complexity. A single company is simpler than a company, a trust and a holding company working together; stock, foreign sales, related-party loans, property or a pending sale all add work.

Most of our clients are established businesses turning over $1M or more, often with more than one entity. We also take on a select number of startups each year where the founder has a clear plan to grow. A smaller client list means a senior team who knows your business, rather than a different junior every year.

01Free discovery call (30 minutes)

You tell us about your business and what you need. We tell you honestly whether we are the right fit. There is no charge for this call.

02Review

With your permission, we look at your last returns, your structure and your accounting file.

03Written proposal

Your monthly package, plus a separate price for each extra you want. Nothing is bundled in that you did not ask for.

04Engagement and clearance

You accept the proposal and our engagement terms online. We contact your previous accountant for a professional clearance and your records, and handle the handover.

05Setup and your team

We connect to your Xero or other software, add your entities to our tax agent client list, build your BAS and lodgement calendar, and introduce the team that stays with you. Then a first check-in on what we found during onboarding.

Before you ask

Pricing questions, answered straight.

How much does New Wave charge?

It depends on the group: how many entities, how much bookkeeping, how often you want reporting and how much advice you want through the year. What does not change is the shape of it. You get one number for the year, in writing, with every inclusion listed, before any work starts. The first call is free and we will give you a clear indication of fees on it.

Is the fee really fixed, or will I get extra bills?

Fixed for the scope we agree. Compliance, bookkeeping, reporting and the planning cadence you choose are covered by the monthly fee and we do not charge for phone calls or emails. If the business changes, say a new entity, an acquisition or double the transaction volume, we re-scope and agree a new number before the extra work starts. Projects outside the plan, like a restructure or a valuation, are quoted up front and only go ahead when you say yes.

Why are you more expensive than my current accountant?

Usually because you are comparing a tax return with a team. A compliance-only accountant lodges what happened. We plan what happens: monthly numbers, tax planned before 30 June, structure reviewed every year, and a designated team who knows the business. The clients who move to us typically find the tax saved and the decisions improved outweigh the difference in fee, often in the first year. If that is not likely to be true for your business, we will say so on the first call.

How is the fee billed?

Monthly, by direct debit, spread evenly across the year so there is no large invoice at tax time. Project work is invoiced when it is quoted and accepted, with the amount agreed before we start.

What if I want to leave?

You are not locked in. The engagement is reviewed every year and you can end it with notice at any point. We hand over your files, your Xero and your ATO correspondence cleanly, because the way a firm behaves when you leave says more about it than the way it behaves when you join.
